RMS (Root Mean Square) | openFrameworks

In sound visualization and acoustic analysis, RMS (Root Mean Square) is a highly important metric. Unlike instantaneous peak values, RMS takes the average of amplitudes over a certain time window (buffer size), which enables a more natural and perceptual representation of dynamics, loudness, and visualizations of audio signals.

ZOOM F3|The Best Compact Field Recorder!

The Zoom F3 is an excellent recorder for compact setups. It’s palm-sized and can be attached to your arm or a boom mic with Velcro, allowing for lightweight recording. It’s user-friendly, even for beginners, as there is no need to adjust the gain. I often use it for recordings with contact mics and hydrophones.
